Mindful Moments
Kinder 10 students worked for weeks in their mindfulness boxes. We already finished the Mindful Schools curriculum. We skipped lesson 15, Mindful Test Taking, since kinder students do not take tests. I will make a modification of that class in February when our students will take the midyear assessment.
As you know, each card has a picture that represents a mindfulness lesson. For students to come up with an idea of what to draw, I did a short lesson everyday for three weeks. That helped us review every lesson. The focus of the review was to talk about how kinder students were going to teach their parents and siblings how to practice that specific mindful strategy and how it would benefit them. We also talked about how the box could be used at home.

We decided to call the box Mindful Moments because that is what each card represents. We discussed that one way to use the box is to close your eyes and pull out one card and then practice that mindful strategy. Another way to use it would be to go in the order of the 14 lessons.
Students worked on their boxes with love and dedication. They were happy to know that it was a way to share their learning with their loved ones. We hope you enjoy them!
