Pajama Day!
Kinder 10 students enjoyed the special day. In the morning they read books with their pillows, blankets and stuffed animals.
After Spanish, we took the chocolate powder cans to the auditorium. During the week, students drew cards that will go in the Appreciation Boxes. I told them that the boxes will be a present with many items and that we would give them to the people who clean the school, take care of our gardens, take care of the school and make it look pretty and neat. In the auditorium they were able to see all the items being collected and the big boxes.
Back in the classroom, Paola came to talk to the children about how Mexican families celebrate the Holidays. She asked students “What do we do in this time of the year?” and some of their answers were: help others who need food or clothes, share toys with children who don’t have toys, share with your friends, give books to people who don’t have books because books are fun. She emphasized that the importance of this season are the values of generosity and kindness.
She also asked: “What type of food do you eat during this season?” Many children said chocolate cake. She talked about the food that is served during winter celebrations. After that, we played bingo and the winner got a chocolate bar. To close the activity each child enjoyed a delicious buñuelo.

At the end of the day students watched the movie Despicable Me eating popcorn.
The day was different and fun!
